I’ve just got to tell you about Jesus!
I want to, plus I must!
Yes, I know. People don’t want to know it, nor do they want to hear it. Tune it out if one has to, but In Love I MUST tell it.
Jesus Christ is GREAT NEWS.
The Bible tells us about the Life of Jesus. Jesus is at the beginning, the middle and the End. He is Eternal. The Bible is true, it is history. His Story.
Knowing Jesus is just something that has to be experienced. I certainly can understand someone who doesn’t have Jesus in their life. I understand someone not believing Him or believing that there is a Him. I can see how someone might not know if there is a God or not.
I can sympathize. I’ve been there.
But we all know in our personal lives deep inside the real us there is something missing even if we admit it or not. We all have questions we can’t seem to answer. We have something we all search for and sometimes don’t even know we are searching. We look for it in religions or even in the lack of one. We look for it in science, philosophies, lifestyles or anything else the world offers. We even deny to ourselves and others that we are missing something, someone.
It’s hard to know there is God. It is based on belief. He asks us to believe. But more than that, if we’d just give the Bible, His Word a chance, He tells us the things that are known about God is evident within us. He tells us His invisible attributes, His eternal power and His divine nature, have been clearly seen and understood through what has been made and so we are without excuse. There is NO excuse for not knowing nor for not understanding. Once we know there is a God, a Creator, Someone Who created us, we should know we are then accountable to that One.
The question is, what does He call us accountable for? God has made the Law, His Law and it is perfect. He holds us accountable to keep it. Call it the moral law, the Jewish Law, the 10 commandments, the Old Testament. He loves us and the Law is good, but it cannot save us. Unfortunately since the Law is perfect, imperfect humans cannot keep it. All our work to try to keep it is for nothing before God. Our nature won’t let us keep it. We are law breakers. We break God’s Law in spirit and in action. God calls us sinners since the fall of Adam. Adam failed to obey God. We all fail to obey God. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. God has a divine standard and none of us can live up to it unless…….Here is where the good news comes in. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin as foretold in the Scriptures. He came as God and yet fully man. He lived a righteousness life before God being the Son of God. He lived among us, walked among us and experienced what we do yet all without sin. He obeys God perfectly and pleases Him.
I’m not theologian but these are the facts.
All men are sinners, and cannot please God. The penalty of disobedience is Death, eternal death physically and spiritually, without God in the world and in the next.
But, God who loves us made a way to save us. As the Apostle John puts it : God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall have eternal Life.
Jesus Christ, lived a perfect life and died a horrible death. But the Good news is after 3 days He rose from the Dead. No other religion can claim that their leader rose from death. Jesus Christ took the place of all, paying the penalty of death we owed for being sinners. He didn’t just die, but He rose again from death. He is alive! We are called to individually in faith believe it receiving the pardon He provided. We must turn from being unbelieving to believing for ourselves. We quit going our own way and turn and go God’s way. That’s called repenting. We must have Him in our lives. We become forgiven. He paid it all and we benefited because of it. In so doing, we also go from death to life, eternal life. Not just in this world but in the world to come. God has given His Word. We must believe His Word. It is the Gospel truth. Paul said it so much better:
Now I make known to you, brethren the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
Those who believe are forgiven of all their sins, and have eternal life with God. That empty space gets filled with God and we become accepted by Him.
Don’t take my word for it, read the Bible, check it out.
(There! I’ve told you and probably rather imperfectly at that) Love, Tammy
